For Students

We are always looking for motivated and curious students who are interested in working with us on theses, research projects, or internships.

If you are excited about topics such as machine learning, medical image analysis, or trustworthy AI, we would be happy to hear from you. Students at all levels are welcome to reach out and explore possible opportunities within our group.

Below you can find a list of currently available topics. However, if none of these directly match your interests, please do not hesitate to contact us anyway. We strongly encourage initiative applications and are always open to discussing your own ideas or project proposals.

We look forward to hearing from you!

If you are interested in pursuing a thesis, contact me at d.wulff@uni-rostock.de.

If there are no open topics available that fit your knowledge or interests, please feel free to reach out nonetheless. If capacity allows, we are happy to discuss potential thesis ideas together or explore how your own interests can be developed into a suitable research topic.

TitleLevelDescriptionRequirements
Integration of Anatomical Priors into Neural Networks for Organ SegmentationMasterThe project investigates the learning of probabilistic anatomical distributions (shape, size, and spatial relationships) from medical imaging data and their integration as priors into neural networks. These priors are leveraged to enhance segmentation performance under limited field-of-view and domain shifts.Python, Deep Learning, Image Processing
